My son was there and they asked him $500 just for diagnostics an 18 years old Nissan. I owned many cars including Mercedes GL which is not cheap in maintenance and I never heard crazy price like this just for diagnostics. I’m scared how much they charge for repairs.
Hi Dumitru, Thank you for your feedback. Our diagnosis and service rates are competitive, and we stand behind our work, providing a 25 month warranty on parts and labor. Your note does leave out some important information on the services you requested. You indicated the vehicle was recently purchased and you had multiple problems you wanted us to investigate and diagnose, including cold starts, belt-type noises from the engine compartment, a possible steering rack leak, issues with the functioning of the clutch pedal and an exhaust rattle upon slow acceleration. Each of those systems requires time to be investigated and diagnosed. California law requires that we provide you with a written estimate for service, which we provided and reviewed with your son and with you. We also advised, in the event that the diagnosis time doesn’t support the additional charges, we may charge you less than the quote, but we cannot by law charge more than the provided estimate without additional authorization from you. Please know that we don’t just throw parts on your car and hope it fixes it – it often takes more than just identifying a code to determine what (and where) something has gone wrong, sometimes even more-so in an 18 year-old vehicle. We wish you luck in your efforts to get the car repaired.
